About this app

What to expect

Learn Italian for Beginners is a structured course rather than a vocabulary app. The core path runs through 12 units and 192 lessons covering greetings, family, food, numbers, daily routines, shopping, travel, work, health, relationships, past events, future plans and everyday communication, introducing words and phrases in context instead of as isolated lists.

Each lesson mixes formats — vocabulary exercises, multiple-choice questions, sentence building, matching, dictation, translation, listening activities, pronunciation practice and grammar challenges — so you learn to form sentences and understand spoken phrases rather than only recognising words on a page. Grammar covers verbs, articles, sentence structure, agreement, questions and common tenses, taught through practical examples and revisited in later units.

Listening and pronunciation are supported with audio for words, phrases, sentences and conversations, and travel material covers restaurants, airports, train stations, shops and hotels. The Review area handles everything after the first pass: difficult words, past mistakes, sentence building, listening challenges, flashcards, dictation, matching and speed practice, alongside lesson progress, streaks, achievements and saved words. Further content covers idioms, slang, informal expressions, business and workplace Italian, culture and etiquette, and roleplay conversations. Italian speakers can switch the course around and study English instead. A Premium option removes ads and unlocks the Premium learning features.
